MY ALLSTATE HORROR STORY

Allstate Insurance Sucks

Phoenix, Arizona, Willima Rittmann, Allstate agent, wrote a flood insurance policy on my house and subsequently deceived me into continuing the policy after the flood plain had been re-designated. I complained and received treatment similar to what I read about on the WEB protest sites. Allstate hired Phoenix's most prestigious insurance-litigation law firm to step on me, but this didn't succeed because my story was true; I simply told them: I'll represent myself so go ahead and sue. They went away...

Miami Florida, August, 1994, Allstate office Phoenix, AZ, originating office. My brother's house was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew and I flew in to help. Allstate promised to have an adjuster there to meet me who never showed. They stalled and stalled my brother's claim - it was sickening to see. The majority of homeowners I saw having problems were covered by ALLSTATE.

Allstate, Columbus, GA, Liz LeCoeur, Agent, Buster Lapp Agency. I (silly me) took out a policy on my new home which was not quite completed. Agent LeCoeur said "...the policy is null and void if you don't move in within thirty(30) days." I called and said I would not make the thirty day deadline and would seek another policy. Allstate continued to bill me for the policy and had the gall to send the "unpaid" amount to collections. Draw your own conclusions, but I see a pattern.

I also want to point out the shoddy way ALLSTATE agents in Columbus, GA treat people. In talking to the manager, named Sheffield, on the phone, anyone listening would hear adamant denials that ALLSTATE could ever do anything wrong and he - AMAZINGLY - said this: "Allstate would have paid your claim even though you ended the coverage if anything happened to your house..." LIAR!

Our Only Hope

Allstate Insurance Sucks"There is no incentive for insurance companies to do what is right, such as live up to the promises made in their policies. Tort reformers fueled by insurance money think big business and the insurance industry need to be protected against "runaway juries." It's the other way around. Big business and the insurance industry have always been able to take care of themselves. The little people need protection from them. This country was founded on the common law right of the little guy to get into court with his hired gun to fight the oppressor, be it big government or big business. Take that away and we have nothing left. Look around. It's being whittled away, bit by bit, caps on damages here, restrictions on jury trials there. It won't end until we recognize the enemy and join together to take a stand against them. It will take the little people to do this together".
